Paul Green Director
Paul has worked in all aspects of the industry, beginning as a Cinematographer on the top rating Crawford Television series “Homicide” The early 1970’s saw Paul working for the Department of Defence, where he directed documentaries and training films for the Navy in all corners of the world. In the early 1980’s Paul formed his own company partnership with Cambridge Films Pty Ltd. Four years later he formed Film Partnership where he was once again the Director/Producer of television commercials and documentaries. In 1989 Paul teamed with David Pulbrook to form Horizon Films Pty Ltd. Since then Paul has made hundreds of corporate films, videos and commercials, including many of the popular Vic Bitter (“matter of fact”) spots. As well as award winning commercials for Carlton and United Breweries, “The Clydesdale Series”, many commercials for GM Holden, Nissan, BMW and the Department of Defence.
David Pulbrook Editor
David has Produced and Directed such documentary/infotainment series as “Escape”, “The Leading Edge”, “Australian Heritage Series” and “Export Australia”.Although David’s first love is editing. His early work included ‘Homicide”, “Matlock Police” and “Division Four”. He worked for Cygnet Films in London for five years and on his return worked for the South Australian Film Corporation as an Editor for their Documentary and Feature Film unit. David’s Feature credits include: “Squizzy Taylor”, “Street Hero”, “Eureka Stockade”. “Ground Zero” for which he won an A.F.I award, “Hotel Sorrento” for which he was nominated for an A.F.I, “Brilliant Lies” and “Visitors”. David has just finished editing the Australian Feature Film “The Cup” which was produced and directed by Simon Winser (“Free Willy”, “Lonesome Dove”) David is currently in Pre-Production on his latest feature “The Last Dance”.
Neville Young General Manager
Neville has held Senior Management and Board positions with some of Australia’s leading media companies. He has been involved in developing media representation for Radio, Press and Television, has experience with TV production, publishing, developing and building Location Television Networks and Cinema both in Australia and Overseas, and re-launching digital imagery, captive audience networks, both in Australia and the US. His ability to assess an opportunity, develop, market and find business to “bolt on” of J.V. these skills are testament to his ability to problem solve and develop strategy to move businesses forward.
Helen Swindells Production Manager
Helen joined Horizon Films in December 2010. Originally from the UK, she came to us from Toronto, Canada where she had worked for Banger Films, working on the Grammy Nominated “Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage” documentary, and previously working at the BBC’s Natural History Unit in the UK on the series “South Pacific”. Helen worked I the production departments at both these organisations, working from initial pre-production, through shooting, to post production and final delivery. Helen has a dynamic background in Production Management, with over 5 years of filming experience and a track record of producing award winning work both at home and on location abroad.
Ebony Greaves Client Service Coordinator
Ebony joined Horizon Films in July 2011, after spending three months hiking in Alaska and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Spain. Ebony came to us from Deluxe Melbourne, where, as the Facilities Coordinator, she gained experience in coordinating post production schedules for Television Commercials, Cinema Commercials, Feature Films and Short Films. Some of the productions she has worked on include Hail – Feature Film, Killing Time - Television Series, Shannon’s, Water for the Future, and Worksafe TVC’s. Currently completing a Bachelor of Social Science, her ability to communicate with a large variety of people makes her easy to get along with and able to understand what clients want.
Anny Beresford Office & Studio Manager
Anny started work in the Film & Television industry in 1980 as David Pulbrook’s Assistant Film Editor, since then she has worked in a variety of different industry related jobs for Production Runner, Stand-by Costume, Post Production Supervisor and Continuity/Script Supervisor on productions such as “The Sullivans”, “Neighbours”, “Death in Brunswick”, “Brilliant Lies” and “The Castle”. she joined Horizon Films in 2010 and manager our office and studio bookings for studio 44 and also assists with studio shoots for internal clients.
Rodney Bolt Post Production & Visual Effects Supervisor
Rodney has been involved in the Film & Television industry for the past 15 years. He brings to the table an extensive knowledge for film, television and TVC production which enables your project to come in on time and budget. He has a strong working knowledge of the tools of the trade for on-set production as well as the ability to form a cohesive structure between the production and post including a comprehensive visual effects toolset which can bring your production to life.
Clark Randerson Mnemonic Audio
Clark started his career as an 18yo at Labsonics working on such shows as Stingers, water Rats and Secret Life of Us. Here he learnt all the skills required in all areas of audio post production, focusing mainly on mixing and sound effects. After learning as much as he could embarked on an adventure to Singapore where he worked in the advertising world doing sound on such campaigns as Coca-Cola, Allianz, McDonalds and HSBC to name a few. He also ended up as audio post-production supervisor on 3 feature films which he mixed for Dolby cinema release. After 2 years he found himself back in Melbourne and opened Mnemonic Audio as manager/senior mixer and put his skills in both long and short format to use mixing Feature Films as well as working on educational multimedia and advertising campaigns such as Good Guys, Honda and the Australian Open. Over the past 5 years he has also freelanced for the ABC (Spicks&Specks, Einstein Factor, Artscape), Gusto Music, Austereo (Fox FM & Triple M), ARN (Mix101 & GoldFM) and Risk Sound
Simon Green Director/Cinematographer
Simon Brings a wealth of experience to Horizon Films having Directed commercials for brands such as Nulax, 7-Eleven and The Melbourne International Beer Festival. As a cinematographer he has filmed commercials for L’Oreal, Hard Yakka and the Victorian Government . He has also been lighting cameraman for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on television shows such as Australian Story, Gardening Australia, New Inventors and Catalyst. In 2007 Simon filmed in Oman, India, The United Arab Emirates and Egypt for a documentary on the History of Jewellery.
